~ Twelve Steps - A Program of Recovery ~

A twelve-step program is a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from a number of different addictions, compulsions and behavioral problems. Although the twelve steps were first published in the Alcoholics Anonymous "Big Book" in 1939, they have been adopted by other twelve step programs ever since. The common misconception is that twelve step programs are just for the substance abuser. However, this is not correct. Twelve step programs are available for a number of different behavioral issues. Please see the listing of the twelve step programs available today.
